Who We Are

We started the Review to provide students with an outlet for reasoned discourse on the legal, economic, and social challenges confronting our generation. We are confident that this conversation starts, first and foremost, with the right kind of writing. We are confident that our culture, one that prides itself on both objectivity and ambiguity, will help us establish the Review as one of Cornell’s premier forums for legal discourse, critical writing, and academic fervor.

The Review is organized in a four-tier bureaucratic structure. New members are (1) Staff Writers responsible for writing a legal article each semester. Staff Writers are required to write at least one article per academic year; however, for individuals seeking to apply to E-Board, it is recommended to write both semesters. Throughout the writing process, Staff Writers are mentored by (2) Associate Editors who typically mentor 3-5 writers in their respective cohorts. (3) Managing Editors dually mentor Staff Writers while also helping with administrative and leadership roles within the Review. Lastly, the two (4) Editor-in-Chiefs oversee the entire Review, including the ultimate organization and publication of the Review itself.

Throughout each semester, Associate Editors and Managing Editors work with Staff Writers in a multistage process that culminates in a robust legal paper. If the Staff Writer meets all stated writing deadlines for the respective semester, their article will be published in our online Review.
